Christian Education Ministry Department
The Christian Education Ministry Department provides training opportunities for individuals to grow toward Christian maturity through knowledge and understanding of the Word as revealed in the Bible. The following ministries fall under this department: Bible Study (Tuesday), Bible Study (Wednesday), Bible Training Union (BTU), Scholarship Ministry, Sunday Church School, and the Vacation Bible School.
Evangelism Ministry Department
The Evangelism Ministry Department supports Johnson Memorial Baptist Church (JMBC)
in attracting visitors to our church through fellowship, evangelism, and outreach so they may come to know the hope that is found in Jesus Christ. The following ministries fall under this department: Projects, Training, and Programs for evangelizing to the unsaved.
Health Ministry Department
The Health Ministry Department is a vision of our Pastor Reverend Henry A. Gaston as a ministry dedicated to providing Information, Education, Fitness, Health Services, and a resource for other ministries. The following ministries fall under this department: The Nurse’s Unit, Health Programs, Health Workshops and Seminars.
Hospitality Ministry Department
The Hospitality Ministry Department helps each other as members of the body of Christ and help those in community with the love of Christ. The following ministries fall under this department: Culinary Arts Ministry, Usher Ministry (Senior, Intermediate, and the Juniors), Security Ministry, and Transportation (Bus) Ministry.
Music and Worship Arts Ministry Department
The Music and Worship Arts Ministry Department comprises of all musical entities, dance and drama ministries to enhance our worship experience. The following ministries fall under this department: Drama Ministry, Gospel Chorus, Liturgical Dance Ministry, Male Chorus, Senior Choir, Voices of Johnson, and Youth Choir.
Missions Ministry Department
The Missions Ministry Department serves as a benevolent ministry supporting the needs of the members of the church and the community as a whole. This ministry is composed of every member and ministry in the church and is dedicated to the feeding, clothing, and shelter of the needy as well as providing visitation to the sick. The following ministries fall under this department: Benevolence Ministry, Foreign & Local Missions, Mature Adults Ministry, and the SHARE Food Ministry.
Oneness Marriage Ministry Department
The Oneness Marriage Ministry Department encourages and supports Christian Marriages in the hopes of the strong institution of
marriage: The following ministries fall under this department: Projects, Training, and Programs for the married membership.
Prayer Ministry Department
The Prayer Ministry Department is the essential part of the church. Prayer ensures that the church’s worship and work for the Lord are true. God wants to reach out to the world, but this will only happen when His people are guided by His Spirit and receive His strength through prayer. The following ministries fall under this department: Prayer Band, Prayer and Praise Team, Wednesday Night Prayer Service, and Tuesday Noon Day Prayer.
Public Relations Ministry Department
The Public Relations Ministry Department improves communications within the church and to keep our members well informed. The following ministries fall under this department: Media Staff, Newsletter Staff, Editorial Staff, and the Sign Language Ministry.
Singles Ministry Department
The Singles Ministry Department provides an opportunity for Singles’ to develop spiritual growth through Biblical teaching and practical principles in their walk. The following ministries fall under this department: Projects, Training, and Programs for the singles.
Young Adult Ministry Department
The Young Adult Ministry Department develops a ministry to bridge the 18-35 year olds into the functioning of the population of the Johnson Memorial Baptist Church. The following ministgries fall under this department: Projects, Training and Programs for the 18-35 year-olds.
Youth Ministry Department
The Youth Ministry Department provides a ministry where youth (ages 0-17) can experience God's love and truth so they can grow in their commitment to Christ and actively live out their faith. The following ministries fall under this department: for Preschool ages 0-4; Children's Ministry for youth ages 5-11; and the Teen Ministry for youth ages 12-17.
